Marketing & Admin Assistant

Boston, MA

Kim Lundgren Associates, Inc. (KLA) is seeking an organized, driven Marketing & Admin Assistant in the Boston, MA area to support our CEO with various tasks related to business development, meeting scheduling, research, website updates, and content development. We expect this hire will have an opportunity for significant growth and are looking for a self-motivated, passionate person to shape the position. There will be an opportunity for some travel to client locations as needed.

KLA is a woman-owned, benefit corporation that partners with local governments to build the sustainable community they envision. We do this by delivering affordable tools and services to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and communicate climate action and sustainability goals, and associated programs. We have now entered the most important decade for taking climate action to avoid catastrophic change. With this sense of urgency, KLA is scaling up its ability to support local action to prepare for the impacts of climate change and reduce contributions to it with the hiring of a Marketing & Admin Assistant, to work directly with our CEO. Responsibilities:

The Marketing & Admin Assistant will be responsible for the following tasks:

Marketing/Business Development

  • Develop and support implementation of a targeted marketing strategy to support KLA’s projected growth
  • Provide research support for KLA’s CEO on target communities
  • Develop case studies on KLA’s existing work
  • Develop and post social media and blog content
  • Maintain the KLA website and social media presence
  • Develop and promote KLA’s social media strategy
  • Coordinate proposal development and assist with design of proposals
  • Manage KLA’s CRM (HubSpot) as well as suggest and implement improvements

Administrative

  • Manage the CEO’s calendar
  • Schedule travel for the CEO
  • Support the full KLA Team with logistics related to client and KLA internal meetings and workshops
  • Develop processes for administrative tasks
  • Print, collate, and deliver proposals, materials, etc.
  • Other support as needed

 

Qualifications

  • Entrepreneurial spirit - must be comfortable in a startup environment
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid design skills and experience with Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Adept at a range of office productivity programs and tools including Microsoft Office (a MUST), WordPress, HubSpot, Trello
  • 1-3 years’ experience in the marketing, business development, or administrative fields
  • Must possess the maturity and rigor to work in a virtual office environment, including the ability to self-manage your day-to-day responsibilities in consideration of the CEO’s calendar and deadlines
  • Must be willing to continuously learn and improve performance
  • We anticipate this role to evolve over time and you will need to be flexible and comfortable in a dynamic environment

Social Media and Communications Intern: Spring and/or Summer 2020

Boston, MA

Kim Lundgren Associates, Inc. (KLA) is seeking a part-time Social Media and Communications Intern to assist with strategy and implementation for the company's social media and content marketing. It's an opportunity to work with a start-up in the sustainability/climate change/clean energy space on a variety of writing and social media projects, including compiling social media best practices, developing content, and training internal and external parties.

KLA is a benefits corporation that partners with local governments to build the sustainable communities they envision. We do this by delivering affordable tools and services to assess, plan, implement, evaluate and communicate sustainability goals and programs. Our core services are: Planning, Greenhouse Gas Accounting, Online Dashboard, Communications, Public Engagement, and Capacity Building. Communications includes branding and communications strategy and writing/posting blog posts and social media content pertaining to their climate/energy/sustainability work. KLA's clients represent local governments of all shapes and sizes, including, but not limited to Boston, MA; Nashua, NH; New Bedford, MA; Portland/South Portland, ME; San Antonio, TX; and West Palm Beach, FL.

KLA's current communications portfolio includes: social media (Twitter, LinkedIn), blog posts, SAS Talk with Kim podcasts (https://soundcloud.com/sastalk), and email marketing. We also support our clients with content for these platforms as well as Instagram.

The Intern will work with KLA's CEO and business development staff on:

  • Graphics (design experience a plus but not a requirement)
  • Research, writing and editing blog posts, case studies and other content
  • Content for ongoing client/prospect emails
  • Developing strategy and scripts for videos

The Intern will work with KLA's communications and marketing staff on:

  • Crafting a social media strategy for KLA that increases our audience and drives engagement
  • Writing posts and managing engagement for KLA’s Twitter and LinkedIn channels
  • Preparing and presenting resource documents and trainings on social media and communications best practices for KLA staff
  • Keeping a finger on the pulse of social media trends, best practices, memes, and other opportunities to optimize KLA social media
  • Graphics (design experience a plus but not a requirement)
  • Research, writing and editing blog posts, case studies and other content
  • Content for ongoing client/prospect emails
  • Developing strategy and scripts for videos

Details

  • 20 hours/week (flexible schedule)
  • $18-$20/hour commensurate with experience
  • Ability to work in-person once/week at either our Cambridge or Burlington, MA location
  • Possibility of working some hours remotely
  • Start dates and length of internship flexible
